On air on the program Border – Storie di confine

We would like to thank EspansioneTV for giving us the opportunity to showcase the MomòRide project on the program Border – Storie di confine, which is aimed at cross-border workers, a very important target audience for our regional carpooling initiative.

From discussions with Giuseppe Augurusa, national cross-border workers manager for the CGIL, and Matteo Toson of the Ticino Border WorkersAssociation, it emerged that the issue of traffic is not only relevant for Ticino municipalities, but also for border municipalities. The project is welcomed, and we hope it will also be a step towards promoting other sustainable cross-border mobility solutions.

In particular, a quote from Mr. Augurusa, which struck us with its nostalgic tone, also makes us reflect on the great truth and opportunity it holds: "Young people today have no idea what car transportation was like in the1970s and 1980s. Those born in those years remember only a few cars at the border, but full of people; today, however, it's full of cars, but empty. So we must see these initiatives not only as important traffic reduction operations, but also as an extraordinary social contribution."

And so, if it was done fifty years ago, it can still be done today.
